I Am Rahab….The Rollercoaster

By Tamika S.
Life is like a rollercoaster. It takes you through many twists and turns and ups and downs. How we deal with this journey is up to us.

My life has been filled with hurt, despair, disappointments, and defeat. On the flip side from my pain, I have experienced many new awakenings that helped me grow into the woman that I am.

Life makes you question yourself and the struggles that we can’t seem to understand: like, why do I keep attracting the wrong kind of men, why do I have so many abandonment issues, why won’t things get better for me?

Despite all of those things, I learned to love myself no matter what and when friends and family turn their backs on me, I know God won’t. He loves me flaws and all. He blesses me even when I don’t desire or deserve it. He wipes away my tears, hugs me when I need it, protects my heart from pain, and, most of all, he won’t leave me.

I’m alive because I know my worth. I realize that I don’t need validation from anyone. I’m fine with people disappointing me. I’m stronger from the lies that were told on me.

And, most importantly, I love me…because I am Rahab too.

  1. I AM THE Rahab that escaped lifes detriments. I am the Rahab that took the wrong road ended up in an abusive relationship. Battered, beaten and wounded. I went down another road which led me into Vicious Cycle that i didn’t think i would return from Then i met My Redeemer….

  2. Tamika, that was powerful. Your conviction and transparency jumped off the page, you know your worth! On the days we struggle and may need reminders we know that we know it’s just a feeling not the truth, The King of Kings is our Daddy! TY!
