I Am Rahab… Land of the Lost
by, Myriam Muniz
Do you all remember that show Land of the Lost? Some of you may be too young and probably never heard of it. The show was about a scientist and his friends who got sucked into a vortex and traveled back to when dinosaurs ruled the earth. They spent every episode trying to figure out how to get back to the present.
How about using your navigational system, GPS, Maps, MapQuest, paper maps, trying to get to someplace you’ve never been? My husband and I have had some interesting arguments whenever we got lost, feeling like we were in the Land of the Lost trying to get to our destination.
Or everything that’s happened since the beginning of 2020? Our world has turned upside down, and there’s some new twist and turn every day in this Land of the Lost as we try to get back “normal.”
Maybe you just feel like you’re in the Land of the Lost in life right now. A big decision you must make; an upcoming change; a recent loss. Are you trying to get back on track? To your destination? Back to normal?
In the Bible, the Israelites wandered around the wilderness for 40 years; this was their Land of the Lost. They roamed because they stopped trusting God. They walked because of their fear of change, the unknown. They spent their time complaining and wanting to go back to what they knew, even though what they knew was hurting them. Is this you?
The good news is that when you’re in the Land of the Lost, there is a way out. The Way. Jesus (John 14:6). Trust Him. Follow Him. He’s always going to guide you out of the Land of the Lost because he loves you and me. After all, you are Rahab, and I am Rahab too.
Thank you Myriam, very encouraging!
